The Elm Hunters
The Elm Hunters is the story of two sisters, Auri and Elowen, who embark on a quest with their dog Scapa to find healthy wych elms, to help save the species from Dutch elm disease. In mid-February 2025, over nine hundred Primary Schools throughout Scotland were sent a copy of The Elm Hunters, written by Euan Bowditch and illustrated by Madeleine Smith, in the hope that it might inspire a new generation of conservationists and citizen scientists.
